We do try to help families who are unable to keep their dog where we can. This depends on our capacity at the time and whether we have a suitable placement for assessment. We don’t use kennels unless absolutely necessary and we prefer to assess each dogs needs in foster prior to re-homing. As far as possible we try to keep previous owners updated on the dogs progress and placement, however we are bound by data protection laws which mean if an adopter does not wish for the previous owner to remain in touch then we respect this.
We occasionally also provide temporary or longer term foster for families who find themselves in hardship- i.e become ill or in hospital, or go into temporary accommodation where they are unable to have pets. Again, this depends on capacity and availability of placements.
