Volunteer

Want to help?

There are many ways you can support Dante’s Dream. We are a small group and are always looking out for people who are dog mad and want to volunteer. Below are some of the current volunteering opportunities. Some opportunities may be a good way for school leavers to gain some work experience and skills to add to their CV.

Administration

Monitoring and keeping the facebook page up to date. Responding to enquiries, sending out application forms. Taking telephone enquiries (if telephone admin)

Homechecker

We generally use an independent home check network but some areas can be difficult to cover, if you are interested in home checking potential adopters in your area training can be provided

Back up Homecheck co-ordinator

Requesting home checks and chasing return of home check forms. Contact with homecheckers about any concerns.

Fundraising

We receive very little in the way of donations so fundraising opportunities are always welcomed! Donations of any kind are useful,  to sell or for raffle prizes or competition prizes.

We would also like to have team members on board who can fundraise on our behalf. From managing online auctions and raffles to contacting companies for donations. Helping us managing sponsorship of dogs to any other new ideas you may have!

Advertising

The more widely we get our dogs seen the more likely we are to find great home so there is no such thing as too much advertising ! We need people to cross post on local groups, to create graphics and images for sharing

Rescue Back up

We want to ensure our adopters feel as supported as possible and are able to contact us if they have any issues. We would like to provide a rescue back up service. This involves providing advice and support. Maintaining spreadsheets of dogs homed and any issues. Managing follow up phone calls/ visits. Checking neuter status of dogs on neuter contracts.

Foster homes

Much of what we do cannot be achieved without our wonderful foster team. Foster homes are always in huge demand – particularly those with no other pets or small children, but we accept all types of homes as fosters and we try our best to match the dog with a suitable foster.

All of these opportunities can be as often or as little as you choose, if you are interested please contact us!
